Flight
She ran to the water
And threw flight upon it.
Skim.
But the surf retreated,
And the board dipped,
And gravity took her back.
She had flown,
If only for a moment,
And the spray and the
Wind on her skin and the
Palm-leaves waving
Stopped at
Gulp.
But she stood,
With sand on her wrists
And saltwatered hair,
And as the surf returned,
She ran
And threw flight upon it.
