Poindexter Game Co: Arrrchipelago

My old friend Jeremy and I worked on this game for a good amount of time. We created Poindexter Game Co. to do so.

We didn't do much with the game studio. It was mostly a placeholder for publishing this game and for later work. I came up with the logo, and we both came up with the name and formulated future plans. Poindexter is, of course, the name of the band the two of us were in.

For the game, he did all the programming and game engine stuff, and I did the graphics. I had to learn pixel art as I went (using Aseprite), which was a lot of fun. I also learned a bit of Godot, our game engine, along with some tools for creating the tilemaps. It was both challenging and rewarding.

When the birth pangs of my divorce hit, I backed out of this and other things. So the domain registration for poindextergameco.com, where I had everything posted, lapsed. You can access the remaining site here: https://poindextergameco-com.pages.dev/blog
